That Surgeon

Dear Sammy, 

When I saw this little novel in a garage sale somewhere, I immediately snapped it up for it's cheesiness factor, and steal of  a price at 30 pesos. 

It was set in the 60's...and it of course, glamorized the world of those mysterious creatures (intriguing, yet perpetually elusive to the general female population), the Surgeon. This singular, deified creature, of the astounding skills was yet again praised and adored in this book. 

I think I wrinkled my nose when I first saw it, because, well, it sounded cheesy (much like the book, The Doctors), but I could not help it despite my initial reaction. Perhaps, I have always wondered why people go into surgery (as with anything else, I wonder why people go into anything at all.), and in that time, I merely wanted to satisfy my curiosity.
